DSL Co-Director Marlene Coetzee-George received the 2026 SheCAN award in recognition of 32 years of dedicated service in the non-profit sector. Throughout her career, Marlene has focused on using sport as a vehicle for social change, community upliftment and the mentoring of young women across South Africa.
Those same values shape everything DSL does, from Netball in a Box visits to early childhood centres to the way we support the women and girls who play. The award is a recognition of Marlene's life's work and of the difference that sport can make when it is led with purpose.
